Marguerite Finnigan, PhD, ISSMP, CISSP, SSCP

Marguerite Finnigan, PhD (University of Washington, Hons.) is a cybersecurity consulting and training specialist with a passion for increasing awareness and technical understanding of global security threats and solutions. She has worked in the IT field since the mid-1980s and started teaching ISC2 CISSP 10 years ago. Since that time, she has trained 1,000+ students on 5 continents and 12 countries on the CISSP, including numerous Fortune 500 companies as well as the US Army, Navy and Airforce. Her goal – overwhelmingly achieved! – is to guide students through the vast amount of material required so that they know how to pass the CISSP on their first attempt.

Marguerite is an excellent instructor that took the time and effort to ensure that our class understood the "why" behind the materials, rather than asking us to memorize definitions or concepts. She made it easy to follow along, focused on the important details of each domain and subdomain, and provided context and real-world examples on implementations throughout.

She made a heavy week of content fly by. The delivery method of the course with the amount of content is very challenging, and she was more than up to the task.

The instructor went above and beyond to make sure every student understood the material. She also made sure to walk through the concepts in an understandable way rather than simply reading off the slide. The extra effort was well appreciated and contributed to the class's understanding of the material.
